Your data is the most important part of your business.
The average business is down for 14 days after a Cyber attack. What happens if you can’t answer calls for 2 weeks? Can’t accept payments? Can’t bill clients? Can’t email anyone? Can’t pay bills? Can’t access files?
We recently had 2 businesses come to us with data protection problems. As a Managed IT Company we want businesses to be protected. If you have doubts that you are then call us or fill in the form below so we can help.
Their back up system consisted of a server backing up to a USB drive. 6 months prior the back up USB drive became disconnected from the server. Then an employee accidentally deleted the files on One Drive, the server and all pc's linked.
All data was lost. - Think about the implications for you if that was the case. No customer information, an inability to meet tax obligations, no current orders, no invoices. Many, many hours of work to recover through emails, paperwork and communicating with suppliers. I can tell you they were panicking!
The solution to this scenario is a cloud based back up system. The data backs up to another computer, on site which then backs up twice per day to an Australian based cloud back up service. This data cannot be deleted. It is easy to restore but of course is extremely secure.
Recently we were contacted by a company who had an inhouse retiring IT employee, that wanted to investigate options for IT support. They had a back up system, set up to a Network Storage Device. (NAS). The process was not set up properly and the back ups were not working. We were able to point this out and recommend Cloud back up services.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST
Cloud back ups are an expense and as a consequence most businesses are reluctant to pay for it.
However, most businesses who suffer from loss of data do not recover.
1 Terabyte of data backing up costs from $150 per month.
